Ariel's Grotto

New Fantasyland | Disney's Magic Kingdom

Every child has the dream of meeting their Disney movie icon, and just past the Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid ride, located at the back of the New Fantasyland section, you will come face to face with a massive coral reef where you can do just that! Awaiting you inside this massive grotto is everyone's favorite mermaid, Ariel from the Disney classic The Little Mermaid. If your child is a fan of the film this is one attraction that you wont want to miss.

As you wait in line at this coral reef you can find all kinds of sea life engraved in the walls and hanging from the ceiling overhead. After a short wait where you travel through the depths of the reef you and your child will have the opportunity to meet Ariel as she sits on her coral chair. Each child gets a brief moment with the mermaid where she will interact with your kids, telling them about life under the sea and her wild adventures. Then the kids will have an opportunity to ask Ariel questions about her life as a mermaid and the troubles she faced in the movie.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to take a photo or video of your kids experience with Ariel. In fact, get right in there with your kid for a once in a lifetime photo opportunity! A Disney staff member will snap a photo of you and anyone else who wants in the picture. Before you leave you will be given a card so you can go online and find the photo of yourself with Ariel, a way to remember the magical experience that can only be found at the New Fantasyland section of the Magic Kingdom.

Do to the nature of the experience Ariel is only available inside her grotto at select times throughout the day, so check your park guide for hours of operation. Kids of all ages are welcome to participate in this experience, and all photography is welcome!
