Built in 1982, The Land at Disney's Epcot has been a must see for anyone who cares about our environment. This is a Pavilion that is dedicated the science and preservation of plants and plant Research. This section of Epcot is an environmentalist's heaven. In 2003 Nestle sponsored this vision and added the Ride Soarin! This is an interactive Hang Gliding tour of our Golden State, California. Guests will be taken past landmarks such as the Golden State Bridge And Beverly Hills. This can be intense for the strong, and relaxing for those who are willing to take the plunge.
Living with The Land is a slow moving boat ride, through the Heart of what Disney does towards Research. This ride takes you through a detailed explanation of how nature cultivates and shapes our great earth. This ride also takes the riders through Biomes of recreations of Rainforests and Prairies. Real life Plants-In-Research are shown through greenhouses that vary from Tropical Fruits to Aquacells or "fish-Farming". This is a neat ride for those who take interest in how things are grown and processed.
Circle of Life: An Environmental Fable is a 70mm Film show located inside the Harvest Theater. After this opened, it introduced a new term to educational films. Thus the term "Edutainment" was born. The films are hosted by various Disney Characters teaching families and children how to preserve and protect nature.
The Land, all in all, is an educational, entertaining, and flat out fun zone located inside Epcot in Disney. Its a must see for people who want to get a little more out of Disney than the expected.
