Surprise package under Disney bus

Disney World Transportation
For nearly 3 hours, all of Disney World's transportation was shut down due to a mysterious box fastened to the bottom of a bus.

Around 3 pm Thursday, thousands of theme-park guests found themselves stranded at Disney World's resorts, hotels and theme-parks.

Shortly after the bomb squad arrived, Orange County Sheriff's department determined that the suspicious package under the bus carriage was not an explosive device. Disney removed hundreds of buses from service between 5:30 - 8:30pm.

The strange object was discovered during a routine maintenance of one of it's buses close to Animal Kingdom. No mention of a bomb scare was announced at the Animal Kingdom when the bomb squad and hazardous material teams arrived.

In order to avoid panic, Disney announced that it's transportation system was experience back-up problems and would extend Animal Kingdoms hours until 7:00pm. Meanwhile, a birds-eye view from a local helicopter revealed the bomb-squad's robot carrying an object to a remote location.

The mystery box comes on the heels of a series of events occurring at Disney World including the untimely death of a monorail pilot and a stuntman that died from a concussion at Hollywood Studios Indiana Jones attraction.

Questions had arisen whether Disney overreacted to the potential pandemonium but Disney countered by saying that bombs can be catastrophic in theme parks.

Most guests were happy though a little irritated that buses were safe as they were returned to service. In some cases, Disney foot-the-bill transporting a guest by cab to their destination.

After all, not everyone was disappointed about being stranded in a theme-park where people both dream, and experience their dream come true.
