Disney Wonder to explore the beauty of Alaska

Disney Wonder heads for AlaskaAs Carnival pulls out, Disney Cruise lines will move in travelling the farthest distance north to date.

Loss of business appeal for Carnival and other cruise lines comes on the heels of the imposition of a $50 passenger tax and certain regulations that were approved by voters some three years ago.

Operating from Vancouver, B.C., Disney's 2,400 passenger ship, will commence seven-night round-trip voyages to Alaska.

Disney's Wonder will set-sail on the high seas for 7-nights round-trip voyage from Alaskan ports including skagway, ketchikan, and Juneau said Disney's cruise line president.

As an added feature, Disney will introduce the all-new 2,500 ft Outlook Cafe atop the Disney Wonder. The addition will server as an observation deck allowing passengers to be immersed in the panoramic view of the chilly waters bustling with wildlife.

According to customer surveys, clients have long anticipated exploring the breathtaking remote waters of Alaska. With Wonder's new itinerary, families can now enjoy the stunning beauty of Alaskan tundra.

With rates just under $1000 for an inside cabin, Disney is offering 18 chilly cruises starting on May 3 through Aug 30, 2011. As the area becomes increasingly more difficult for cruises, Norwegian, Carnival, Holland all have announced reductions in schedules.

With two new ships under construction, Disney officials may be taking the Wonder out of commission after 2011.
