Castaway Cay is getting a touch of pixie dust

Disney's private island Castaway CayDisney's private island Castaway Cay is undergoing an upgrade that will enhance guests experience on future cruises. Touted as guests favorite port-of-call, this charming remote island that occupies only 55 acres will offer some brand new features.

Before becoming Disney's tropical paradise getaway, it was formerly known as Gorda Cay nestled between the Abaco Island Bahamas. Exiled by American forces, European settlers populated this remote island in the late seventeen hundreds.

Nearly 200 years later, Disney has developed a portion of the primitive untamed landscape for entertainment including one of it's feature films "Splash." After eighteen months of landscaping, Gorda Cay was transformed into the charming remote getaway Castaway Cay.

Offering Disney signature entertainment, world-class recreation, and warm tropical weather, Castaway Cay is one of the most sought-after tropical paradises in the world.

In 2010, Castaway will be better, with an extra dose of pixie dust, the private island will feature new private beach cabanas,a family beach, and a water park play area.

Now when clients are escaping to the private island for some adventure, relaxation and quality time, then will discover that the family beach is nearly 700 ft larger. This charming remote beach will offer sand-white pristine beach, where you can dip into the blue waters of the lagoon.

Beach-goers can get refreshed at the lunch-buffet location, offering a beach bar, beach rentals and merchandise. Guests will just love the new Spring-a-leak play area for the family in addition to Pelican Plunge featuring 2,400-sq-ft floating platform, just a short swim from the beach.
