Cast member dies at Disney World

Performed several times a day is the stunt spectacular Indiana Jones Epic. It is a show at Disney's Hollywood Studios based on the movie, Raiders Of The Lost Ark. Indian Jones features pyrotechnic devices, various stunts, and the integration of the Amiga computer used to controlled events.

One of Disney's best spectaculars is produced by George Lucas, and directed by Jerry Rees. To provide a more interactive experience, guests are selected to participate in the final scenes.

In the original epic movie, the action begins in a Peruvian temple where Indy attempts to overcome certain perils including false floors, ancient booby traps, and mortal spikes as makes a getaway with a golden idol.

Similar stunts were being performed by Anislav Varbanov, a Disney cast member when he fatally was injured in a tumble roll on Monday evening. This is the third injury in 7weeks that was sustained by a cast member.

Since 1989, Disney has been performing this epic with virtually minimal injuries. During that time some occupational safety fines have been imposed upon Disney for equipment failure. These include a malfunctioning trap door, a ladder collapse, a faulty restraining cable and a lack of adequate padding or equipment protection.

Being rushed to the hospital after 7:34 p.m., it was determined that Varbanov had suffered a head injury. Unable to resuscitate him, Florida Hospital Celebration Health pronounced him dead at 8:53 p.m. according to a police report.
