Harry Potter Ride Universal
For a year now, fanatics have been waiting for the opening of the new Harry Potter attraction in 2010. Shrouded in much secrecy, the $200-million project will open at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure. Many have been speculating on how Universal plans to bring to life the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.Based on the seven-book series by J.K. Rowling, only a hand-full of renderings revealing the theme-park have been released to date by Warner Bros. imagineers. Even contractors have been sworn to confidentiality offering few clues as to the Harry Potter project.
Both people and records around the project have revealed some limited facts. Atmosphere is what guests will be coming to see more that a coaster. Wizarding World will be constructed near the Lost Continent and will feature Hogwarts castle, robocoaster, hogsmeade Village, stores, shops, Hagrid's Hut, Forbidden Forest to mention a few.
Another recent development surrounds a host of applications for trademarks that have been discovered for the new Harry Potter Wizarding World ride at Universal Orlando. Questions have submerged regarding the name of the new attraction.
One of the most interesting trademark names found in public records is "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey." Rumor has it that this may be the name of the new attraction.
Speculations around the trademark apps for the retail locations suggest Owl Post for the mail system, Zonko's a proposed joke shop, Ollivanders candy shop, Honeydukes magical equipment repair and Dervish & Banges.
Of course between now and the summer of 2010, everything including names for the themes are on the table for change.
