Free day at TBN's Holy Land Experience
"Experience love, joy, peace, experience Jesus" is the mantra advertised by the Holy Land Experience.
Immerse yourself in an incredible place that takes you back into time. Enter the through the east gate, find yourself in the middle of Jerusalem's market place, with all the unique sounds of the middle east.
Bedazzled by the temple plaza's gleaming replica of Herod's temple, view a larger-than-life indoor model of the old city Jerusalem. Provocative questions arise including, what was life like for Moses and the children of Israel? Witness powerful re-enactments of the wilderness tabernacle, marvel at the Crystal Living Waters exhibit, experience the presence of the Lord.
Years before TBN's ownership, The Holy Land Experience fought to define itself as a church, and not a business for property tax purposes. Finally, winning the battle, Orange County Property Appraisers dropped their appeal after legislation was written guaranteeing the theme parks exemption status.
In exchange for that status, Holy Land Experience must provide one free admission each year to the public in order to fulfill its non-profit purpose. To date, the Trinity Broadcasting Network based in California who purchased the park in 2007 is unclear with respect to the exact date for 2009.
Clearly, the free day would be an opportunity to preach the message to many people who otherwise may not have exposure to religion. Holy Land may advertise the free day via it's TBN broadcast at some point.
According to Trinity Broadcasting Network, the park has not had a significant declined in attendance since the beginning of the recession. Holy Land Experience is looking forward to a great year in 2009.
