After 32 years of voicing Disney's most beloved character Mickey Mouse, if will be silent forever. Wayne Allwine who suffered from complications has died at 62. Russi Taylor who voiced Minnie Mouse remained by his side during this tragety.
Allwine who gave people so much joy & happiness after so many years, gave his entire professional life to Disney. Allwine first joined Disney in 1966 and then to work in the mail room. Later, Allwine began to voice Mickey Mouse back in 1977 while working in the sound department.
During his distinguished career, his voice is heard in Disney parks around the world in "mickey's Christmas Carol" in 1983, and "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" in 1988. He voice can be heard on the Disney Channel's famous animated Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in 2006.
One of the first voices behind Mickey was Walt Disney and the second voice was Jimmy MacDonald who mentored and passed the part to Allwine. Allwine can remember when Macdonald had said "Just remember kid, you're just filling in for the boss.
With that uncertainty, Allwine has been imitating the voice of Mickey ever since.
