Cypress Gardens Reopens
Cypress Gardens reopens with a trademark pyramid by it's water ski team in March. After 4 months of painful inactivity, one of Florida's first tourist attractions is ready take the bull by the horns. With wide dress southern ladies, acres of green foliage and it's famous water-ski team, Cypress Gardens began welcoming guests again.
Some of the costly rides including animal exhibits are closed with a emphasis on historic gardens and Splash Island water park. Unfortunately, many of the rides have been sold except for the larger roller coasters that are now sitting idle.
Many guests rave about the peacefulness of the gardens and the world-renown ski shows. Since the park was founded in 1936, it has struggled in vying for position with the other major theme parks. Rides that were thrilling in their heyday, no longer can compete with $80 million rides at the theme parks.
Lowering concession rates, major additions to Splash Island theme park, and returning to the gardens roots, will all help to increase the experience at Cypress Gardens.
