Universal accused of Fraud
Remember those three characters Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, and Jason featured during Halloween at Universal in 2007? ICC Design Inc., claimed that it's concepts were stolen by Universal, NBC Universal, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema.
In a 26-page allegation, it states that ICC Design Inc. had worked for over a year on concepts related to the 3 characters with New Line and Universal execs when the talks ended abruptly in 2006. With plans under way to design a new theme park for Universal, the company made plans to license the 3 characters.
But suddenly, Universal Orlando & Universal California featured the same 3 characters during it's Holloween Horror Nights in 2007 triggering the law suit. Dismissing the allegations, Universal was accused of misappropriating ICC's proprietary and confidential business proposal ultimately reaping great benefits.
