New Port for Disney Wonder

After so many years of being stationed at Port Canaveral, Florida, Disney's Wonder shall be strategically positioned to port on the west coast in 2011. The Wonder will be displaced by the two newer ships Disney Dream & Fantasy in 2011 - 2012.

The new contract being considered by the Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners is a 2-year agreement with 3-year optional extension. The newer ships are scheduled for completion between 2011 - 2012 fulfilling the plan of overall expansion of Disney Cruise for the whole family. Disney to will continue to build on unforgettable cruise experience of exploring new horizons.

The bows of the new ships will be blessed with deco-inspired artwork with a pattern reminiscent to classic ocean liners of the 30's reflecting the glitter and glamor of a golden age of ship design including the Disney signature Mickey Mouse icon at the center.

The Disney Fantasy and Dream will be able to double the passenger capacity weighing in at 128, 000 tones hosting over 1,250 staterooms.

Since running it's two successful pilot Mexican Riviera cruises from 2005 - 2 008, Disney is anticipating an overwhelming response to their special brand of family cruises which has been in high demand for years said Disney's representative.
