Dubai may never gain the recognition expected

When the Dubai developer Nakheel halted development of 4 theme park projects for Anhueser Busch Entertainment, the ripple affects were felt half-way around the world said Orlando officials. Sometimes, the aftermath can be so dramatic that it will trigger layoffs in order to reduce operating costs.

Foster Conant & Associates acknowledged that the Dubai projects had caused some downsizing shortening a work-week to a 4-days and reducing staff to just 12 employees. Maitland firm X-nth has also been disappointed with the news from Dubai and hopes to change its focus to Science, technology and infrastructure projects.

Some believe the false notion that the federal economic stimulus package filled with social programs including averting home foreclosures, providing of health care for all Americans, renewable energy development is going to create jobs and bring economic healing. But history demonstrates that FDR's New Deal's social programs did not stimulate the economy in 1930's but in fact WWII caused economic to recovery.

At one point Dubai was considered a big competitor with Orlando's theme parks, but things are changing with the recession. Fortunately, all the know-how to design and build theme parks exists right in Orlando Florida said Harris Civil Engineers' Joseph Harris.

Over the last 5 years, construction companies like HHCP Design International were in operation 24 hours a day building new theme parks for Dubai. More theme parks were built in this time period that would have taken Orlando to build in 30 years.

Although Dubai will continue to draw tourists from Russia, Europe, and the Middle East, the dam and will not be as high as projected due to the projects now on ice.
