Curtains up for American Idol
As a new groundbreaking attraction that has become a world phenomenon, Disney is featuring its first debut of American Idol Experience. As a televisions and pop culture level, the American Idol captured the thills and energy making it a premier television series.
The Experience encapsulates the energy of the television series with auditions and onstage performances. During performance, park guests can cheer on their favorite entertainer opening the door to world recognition. Opening Feb 14, the Idol was a collaboration between Disney Imagineering, FremantleMedia Enterprises, and 19 TV Ltd.
One of the most technologically advanced indoor stages hosting 1,000 seats featuring neon signs, and the hallmark American Idol backdrop is nestled in the middle of Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park. The theatre was actually designed by the same corporation located in Hollywood.
Open to Disney Hollywood studios guest is the interview process eligible for guests 14 years and older. The set reflects all of the best elements of the actual TV show, including interviews, live stage performance, live audition in front of the director and then final competitions.
The guest transitions through a multi-step process including selection of star quality and then performance training. Contestants receive performance training, hair & make-up, followed by showtime before theme park quests in addition to a three expert judges.
Winners of the grand-finale performance during the evening will be eligible to schedule a font of the line audition to a future audition for the real "American Idol" television show.
