Westgate do not call violations $900,000
Implemented by the government was the ominous do not call list that prevented those pesty multilevel marketers from calling everyday at dinner time. Finally, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) investigate allegations that Westgate was violating marketing practices.
According to the allegations, both Westgate and two other companies had been placing thousands of telemarketing calls to people on the "do not call" list. Westgate denied the allegations due to said unsettled gray area of the law.
Westgate received their private information through online channels including telephone number supposing they had Carte Blanc check to call them. Although Westgate denied wrongdoing, they settled in a $900,000 litigation lawsuit.
Going forward, Westgate is no long doing business with the culprit third party lead provider.
Still other customers that had been on the National Do Not Call List completed forms for sweepstakes offering vacation packages had been contacted by three other telemarketing companies.
One being the Ormand Beach travel company Accumen Management Services Inc with its subsidiary also settled in a $275,000 litigation on Tuesday announced FTC.
