2nd National Championship for Gators

Thursday night, the Gators won against Oklahoma 24-14

With fourth quater defense in one of the most difficult times in school history, Gators made chumps out of Oklahoma. No question that unparalleled team work combined with unusual motivation factors helped Florida win the Championship in 3 seasons.

Two teams head to head at the Dolphin bowl, one tired of losing Champion title games and Florida with mediocre performance through-out the season.

Just minutes to go when the fans became euphoric as Tebow threw a pass to David Nelson with just minutes remaining in the game. Tebow finished the year with 231 passing yards including 2 touchdowns.

Even through all the frustration of the game, Tebow earned player of the year with his high octane performance. Earlier, Tebow had made a commitment to his team to play with integrity & excellence to finish up an amazing night.

Beginning the first half with the unusual ability to make 2 interceptions and a goal-line stop as players chanted "SEC, SEC." Without a doubt Oklahoma knew that the Gators would come out tough.

It was an amazing year for two teams that had the least offensive output of the year especially for a Sam Bradford scoring NCAA record of 702 in the 1st thirteen games.

Bursting for a 52-yard play, Old Harvin played a brilliant game on a lame ankle to complete 171 total yards of defensive playing. Florida never trailed in the game even with the 27-yard field goal by Jonathan Philips.

But at the end it was a tough offense and a command of the fourth-quarter that saved the game for the Gators.
