You will find one of Floridas finest theme parks just twenty minutes south of Orlando in Winter Haven, it is Cypress Gardens Adventure Park. It was founded way back in 1936 by the Pope family and it is the birthplace of performance water skiing, they still have shows daily and is proclaimed the water-ski capital of the world. You will be greeted at the gate by a Southern Belle, a Lady dressed in a beautiful southern gown. The park itself is located on over 50 acres of lush sub tropical landscape and includes over 40 thrilling rides with 6 roller coasters and lots more for young children. Incorporated in the park is a newly opened water park called Splash Island so bring your swimming gear with you. Also at the park they have top line artists like LeAnn Rimes, Gretchen Wilson and many more. Since changing hands in 2007 the park has emerged as one of the areas major attractions and has had record attendances.
