How will the recession affect tourism in Central Florida? by L.D.

  1. Because the Government is injecting $150 Billion back into the economy the lower end families will get a bit more money in their pockets due to extra tax rebate, therefore they will come to Disney and spend it!
  2. Vacation rental prices will drop because of a glut in vacation properties available and hotel rooms.
  3. Mickey Mouse will hold the price this year, so no price increases at the attraction gates!
  4. Foreign exchange rates gives visitors from abroad much more spending power for the dollar.
  5. Terrorists have found softer targets overseas, so there will be little or no terrorist activities in the U.S.A.!
  6. All the theme parks made a profit in 2007, so in 2008 most parks will be giving great discounts and deals. See Billy Boys Tickets for the best prices in Mouse Town.
  7. The very harsh winter and frigid weather in the north and midwest will make people yearn for the warm weather, so they will come to Florida. International air travel will take a big hit, losing 25% of their paying passengers. During a recession people stay in their country to go on vacation.
