Cocoa Beach by L.D.
We were advised that the nearest beach was Cocoa Beach, which was only 45 minutes away, so off we went straight down east US Hwy 192. At the end of this highway you make a left turn and eight miles up the road you will come across the Town of Cocoa Beach, this is a typical seaside town complete with a long pier where you can have a snack or go fishing or just relax in the warm sub tropical waters.
Cocoa Beach is situated just minutes from Florida's fastest growing port, Port Canaveral where you can take a cruise to almost anywhere in the World! If you want you can even go shrimping during the season, it is great fun and the kids love it. The climate is sub tropical/temperate and directly offshore runs the Gulf Stream. This makes the area of Space Coast a great place to live year round. Here's a list of things to do with the kids:
