Beach Vaca
BEACH VACA
Last week I got to spend the weekend at St. Petersburg. Finally, a vacation. I could hear the lyrics of the old song repeating in my head. (Vacations all I ever wanted. Vacation, happy to get away!)It took us a good 4 hours to get there. So like most teenagers I spent the ride texting on my phone and sleeping. Oh, and listening to my ipod of course. We stayed at the Tradewinds hotel which was actually really nice since normally we get stuck in some scary run down place that’s more like a roach home then a hotel. Well this place is ah-mazing. It has a mini golf course, over 4 pools, a place for girls to bet their hair professionally braided, a place to get henna tattoos, and there is a huge blue slide that you can ride down. Also, they have nightly events like trivia games, movies playing by the pool, and parties. Well I went with my aunt, uncle, two younger cousins, two sisters, and mom. That totals to……8 of us. We had a blast, which was also surprising : ) normally we are to cramped in the rooms, or it rains so we can’t go to the beach. But this weekend was all rain….except one night. But that’s ok cus it was night.
The first day we got there was Thursday evening probably around 5 or so. Right after we got settled the little kids were complaining how hungry they were so we went out to eat at Crabby Bill’s. Yum. I ordered crab cakes which are delish. Conveniently enough, there was a rehearsal dinner which just so happened to be that night. Boy, were they loud. So mush so I had to eat outside with my younger cousin because she was crying. Let’s just say at least the seagulls were happy with that. Anyways, of course we had to go to the pool that night because we just can’t wait until tomorrow so we did, even though it was like 8. Thank goodness the pools are open until 11. I spent most of the time in the two hot tubs. : ) after that we wanted to just kind of look around and we pretty much stumbled into a black light party or glow in the dark party. There was people playing volley ball with glow in the dark paint painted on them, and if you were not playing you were dancing. Cool right?
The next two days kind of blurred together. We dove for sand dollars, well my mom and uncle did. Me and my older sister spent most of the time lying on the beach or by the pool. We got henna tattoos, slept in late (duh) and were pretty much lazy as ever. On the night that there was a storm, we got stuck under a porch like area. Since we had two young kids there, we had to entertain them somehow. So we played duck duck goose, what time is it Mr. Fox and tag. Other kids ended up joining us. I think what made is fun was watching the three 40 year old adults run around. No offense to anyone or anything. Lol
Well it’s safe to say it was sad to have to leave. I mean we got good food, got tans, and met some very hot guys ; ) but you can’t stay on vacation for forever.
