BEACH BOUND
My friend Amanda and I were sitting in her driveway the other night and we came up with this brilliant idea to go to the beach. The beach was a perfect idea because she was about to go back to school and I had not been to the beach the whole summer and I was beginning to look like a ghost. We told ourselves that we were going to wake up early and leave the house by nine. Our plan didn’t work out the way we wanted it to. We ended up waking up around 10:30 and we didn’t leave the house until eleven.
So after a few pit stops it’s now 11:30 and we are finally on our way to Cocoa Beach. On our long journey to the beach we were singing, dancing and having lots of fun in the car, we were acting like the goofy girls that we are. About an hour later we finally rolled into a parking spot right next to the beach. We got our towels and our food and drinks and headed towards the ocean.
It was a beautiful day outside. The sun was shining and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. It was the perfect day to get a tan, or sunburn! The only bad thing was that the sand was super hot!!! I laid my towel down and put sun block on my face and I was ready to get my tan on. I laid there for about 15 minutes or so and I was already starting to sweat. It was pretty hot outside! So Amanda and I got up to check out the water, it felt awesome. It wasn’t too hot or too cold, it was just right. We spent about ten minutes in the water and decided to get out and get some more sun.
After a while we decided to get up and take a walk down to the pier and see if there were any hot guys to check outJ Unfortunately we did not see any hotties, but that was expected because it was the middle of the week, summer was over and the college boys were already back at schoolL What we did see was this boy trying to show off on his skim board. He was doing good at first but then something went wrong….. His feet came out from underneath him and he landed flat on his back. He laid there for a couple seconds and then quickly got up and looked around to make sure no one had seen him. Amanda and I started cracking up, it was so funny!!! Once we got to the pier we turned around and started making our way back to our spot.
We finally got back to our towels and laid down to catch some more rays. I grabbed the bag of popcorn we had brought and then I went to grab my water. It was gone!! Someone had taken it when we went on our walk, I was so mad. I checked our bags and purses we had also left there to see if anything else had been taken, fortunately nothing else was missing. But the fact that a strange person was around my stuff and took something really freaks me out!! We got back in the water and got beat up by the waves but it was fun. Then these surfer guys came up to us in the water and started talking to us and asking us where we were from and what not. They were nice but I was tired and hungry so we got out of the water and left the beach. It was 3:30 when we left.
We stopped at Subway and got something to eat and then we were on our way home. I slept the whole way home, so it was a pretty quick ride for me. When we got home I looked like a lobster!!! I was fried and in a lot of pain. I took a cold shower and then put aloe on and took a long nap. Three and a half hours out in the sun was too much for me!!! I’m not looking forward to peeling but I know I will, if I’m lucky it’ll tan but I’m not getting my hopes up.
