Guess what might be coming to Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park?
How many remember the Chamber of Secrets where Harry Potter’s car Ford Anglia made unique maneuvers in the air while flying around at Hogwarts? Universals engineers have been able to combine the Kuka Robotics arm technology with Harry Potter's car to create a unique type of flying experience similar to that of the Chamber of Secrets story.
But, why did Disney’s WDI apparently give up on the project? It appears due to all the legal issues related to brain injuries on the Indiana Jones attraction WDW lawyers may have been too nervous to introduce this kind of extreme attraction where the guest can design their own ride experience.
Whether this project truly is released at Universal will all depend on the author of Harry Potter, J.K Rowling who will decide to whom she will sign-off the license for future theme park attractions. Roughly ten months ago, WDW fans where thrilled that the Harry Potter themed project would be installed at Disney World, but maybe not.
In recent months, Disney has topped Universal with its soon to be released attraction Toy Story Mania which eclipsed Universal’s high-tech theme ride The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. But Universal could not be defeated by Disney and hence dreamed up this new Harry Potter themed park attraction employing the new Kuka Robotics state-of-the-art technology. This tecnology would allow guests to personalize their own program into a simulator creating their own personal riding experience. Guests would then be taken on a rockin 'n rollin adventure quest through Worthogs in a replica of Weasley’s Ford Anglia magical car.
