Cruising with Disney
Two more cruise ships are being added to Disney’s magical fleet as we speak said Walt Disney’s Company CEO Robert Iger. These ships have an amazing capacity of 2,500 passengers and are roughly twice the size. These ships which are similar to today’s modern passenger vessels will be completed between 2011 and 2012.
The new ships will be contracted by Meyer Werft and will be constructed in one location. Construction will commence on one of the largest dry docks which provides webcams allowing fans to view the progress of the construction. Disney is going to provide one photo a week with possible live-cam footage. Currently, photos reveal one ship almost complete with a second one on the way.
Just a fun fact: the cruise ships must following a winding path of twenty miles to be launched into the Erns River.
Hopefully now that Disney has two new ships, it will be able to station one on the west coast with trips to Mexican Riviera and Alaska. Word has it that the second ship might be stationed in the Caribbean in order to make trips to the Mediterranean and Europe.
