A vision to build another Walt Disney World in Anaheim

Sitting on heaps of cash since September 11, 2001, with revenue increases during its 50 year anniversary, Disneyland is preparing to bring to fruition some lofty dreams. However, Disneyland has not only ruffled some feathers in the process, but has intimidated even the town that has supported them for over 50 years..

Massive expansion was in the vision nearly 20 years ago when Michael Eisner Walt Disney Co. Chairman was at the helm. The intension was to copy it’s counterpart in Florida as a blueprint for an international theme park, three resort hotels, and a 6-acre lake, time-share units, cruise line, and target it’s high-end customers with special hotels..

Unfortunately, Disneyland executives has resorted to pushing their weight around by protecting zoning in a resort district and blocking residential construction. Ballot initiatives where sought with certain business entities to lock in zoning required for its resort-themed parks.

Anaheim has a long way to go to catch up with WDW which boasts, 22 hotel resorts, two water parks, six golf courses, and four theme parks. But this is only a challenge for Anaheim who has begun to show city officials a preview of its top secret plans.

Now with 460 acres of land in Anaheim, unidentified individuals have been reported trying to purchase fields from neighboring landowners and apartment complexes. Currently, Disney’s top hotels are running at 93% percent occupancy providing the justification for expansion and remodeling.
