Disney’s one stop for parents
Formerly, Disney’s websites focused primarily with promoting it’s own products with strict control over content. Not any more, Disney is going to debut an additional website strictly aimed at helping moms with problems ranging from children to financial needs.
The intent of this website is to combine home-grown content with outside content which is typically out-of-character for a company that likes to maintain control over it’s assets.
Now that some moms are increasingly dependant upon the internet, this one-stop website will help the family with search capabilities including articles, education, food, parenting, up to and including 1000 different topics!
Scheduled to go live some time this week, family.com will be in beta for a while said VP Paul Yanover of the Disney internet group. In a consensus last year according to Disney, over thirty thousand mothers indicated that a trusted website would satisfy their browsing needs. Again, Disney made it clear that these types of services would not necessarily be Disney signature products and services.
