Disney may be back in the hand-drawn animation business
After the making of featured films including home of Mulan, Brother Bear, Lilo & Stitch, and Home on the Range, Disney closed its animation Studio in Orlando for good. But that may not be the end of the story, since last May when Lasseter joined the team, Pixar’s animation unit in Burbank may returned to hand-drawn films again.
Will they re-open the animation studios at MGM studios Orlando, or perhaps out-source this work to many talented artists in the field? Classic Disney films is the focus right now in the production of The Frog Princess and Enchanted said Lasseter who spoke to investors at Burbank California.
The Frog Princess due to be released in 2009 will be the first film to feature and Afran-American princess based on the storyline of Little Mermaid and Aladdin.
